Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be
Spring is the season of new beginnings. In spring, the weather starts to get warmer. The leaves begin to grow on the trees and some trees may blossom. Plants begin to grow again when the sun shines warmly and rain falls. They poke their leaves out of the ground and you may see baby animals like lambs around. The daytimes start to get longer. Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken and the earth seems to come to life again. Birds come back from their winter homes and make nests; the arrival of spring brings more daylight, so we can enjoy the energy that is no longer needed to fight off drowsiness. Spring means Palash flower and the festival of colour. A festival that waves goodbye to the shivery chill of winter, Holi is one of the most popular festivals in India.
This is a period of transition, from the darker winter days to the bright spring vibes. As nature begins to come to life, so do we. It is a period of transformation for us also, and it’s not uncommon for people to shift careers, start new creative projects, end relationships or begin new friendships, during this time. To support this energy, it is a great idea to follow in nature’s footsteps and get a makeover also. It’s all about a fresh new approach to everything.
Spring and Poetry are much related. While spring is most keenly awaited in literature, its onset often means different things to different writers. The advent of the spring season is celebrated as the beginning of new life in the West, with a sense of optimism and joy evident in the poetry. Whereas in the literature of subcontinent, bahaar (spring) appears to have mixed meanings for the literary world.
Spring has traditionally been the symbol of love, joy, spirituality, youth and melancholy and most importantly beginning of a new life for a person after suffering at the hands of the 'cold world of autumn'.
Spring means meeting new people and trying new things, discovering myself and moulding into something new. Spring means taking the leap and pushing back fears, a time for change and an opportunity for progress. Spring means out with the old and in with the new
